    Episode Highlights

Exemplars of Wisdom in Tal’s Life

    • When Tal hears the word “wise,” she thinks of her grandfather and her mother.

    • She describes her grandfather as “brilliant with the mind, growing at the heart.”

    • Tal admires her mom, who is a doctor, for her strength. At 70, her mom still practices her profession.

    Paying Attention to Your Energy

    • Tal had worked in the entertainment industry for a long time.

    • The biggest lesson she learned from her career is paying attention to her energy.

    • We can manage our energy despite the adrenaline pump we experience from the demands of our jobs.

    • Longevity in your job does not necessarily mean growth.

    • It is crucial to feel, direct, and manage our energy better.

    Success Is Simplicity

    • Success, for Tal, is wanting less.

    • With simplicity, she can use her energy to grow.

    • Other people may perceive Tal’s vision of success as failure or setback. However, for her, it means ample opportunities.

    Self-Empowerment: Past & Present

    • For Tal, the concept of women empowerment before and now is very similar. The difference lies in how we express it.

    • Empowerment means you do you. It is about having the choices and owning who you are without having to compromise.

    • In her 20s, Tal felt like she needed to prove a point in the decisions she made.

    • Before, self-empowerment is about trying to make a point. Now, empowerment comes from within.

The Biggest Lesson from Tal’s Daughter

    • As a mother, Tal is learning every day. There are days where some things are foreign to her.

    • She always asks the question, “What could I have done differently?”

    • She wants to give her daughter more space to grow. At the same time, she wants to provide her with the skill sets she needs to feel more empowered.

    • Being a mother forces her to learn patience in a more encompassing way.

    Wisdom Comes from All Ages

    • We are all on different paths and journeys at different times.

    • Many young people have more wisdom about certain situations.

    • Wisdom is not about age. What matters is who you are and where you are on your path.

    Tal’s Greatest Life Shift

    • Tal’s greatest life shift happened in her first marriage.

    • When the relationship was just starting, there was a voice in her head stopping her from saying yes. However, she was terrified to communicate.

    • By not communicating, she ended up making decisions that hurt her ex-husband.

    • Tal learned to listen to what her body is telling her. She learned to talk about things, even if it meant hurting someone in the process.

    • She also learned that making mistakes only reflects the totality of man. Your mistakes do not define you.

    On Resisting Change

    • Everything is energy. Energy moves, and nothing is static.

    • Resisting change makes things more difficult because you are fighting against the flow. At some point, the current is going to take you.

    • When you go with the flow, you do not have to worry about getting plummeted down the waterfall.

    What WISE Means to Tal

    • Wisdom means knowing yourself.

    • Inspiration is that little seed of energy that you cannot deny.

    • Success is happiness unattached to anything specific.

    • Empowerment is owning yourself and not apologizing for it.

    Tal’s Advice to Her Daughter

    • Don’t say you can’t. You can do anything.

    • You are strong and powerful.

5 Powerful Quotes from This Episode

“Start paying attention to your energy.”

“I kind of wish I could have learned to manage my energy better. And again, that’s not so much like taking care of yourself and self-care. It’s like feeling it and directing it.”

“You got to do what works for you and what makes you happy.”

“I might make choices that people wouldn’t agree with—and I’ve done that my whole career, all careers. But I check in and I’m like, if it feels good to me, I’m going to do it, and if it’s not the right choice, I know I can defend it because it’s mine.”

“Some things are life experience, but there’s a wisdom that can be innate, that it doesn’t matter how old you are.”
