#WisdomWednesdays Listening and Trusting Your Intuition

What does it mean to "trust your gut"? When you rely on your intuition, you immediately know something, even if there's no logical reason. It's that familiar sensation of having a strong feeling that something isn't quite right without being able to pinpoint why.

In today's episode of Wisdom Wednesday, Rosie and Tessa talk about listening and trusting your intuition. Rosie shares how a trip to Santa Fe taught her about perceiving energy and following her instincts. Listen to Tessa and Rosie discuss the importance of claiming your autonomy and doing what you believe is best for you.

If you have self-doubts and need confidence in your decisions, this episode is for you!

Here are three reasons why you should listen to the full episode:

  1. Understand the significance of trusting your intuition; not all decisions come from logic and reason.

  2. Recognize the value of exploring creative opportunities and make time for it.

  3. Discover how following your gut can be empowering.

    Episode Highlights

    [1:42] Tessa’s Family Trip

    • When this episode was recorded, Tessa and Rosie had just returned from week-long trips.

    • One side of Tessa's family is from Mexico, so they get together every year.

    • This year was their sixth trip, and they visited Sayulita, a small town in Mexico.

    • Tessa had a great time eating delicious food and playing games with her family. She could, however, be allergic to one of the fruits she ate.

    • Her father-in-law purchased a molcajete (mortar and pestle) for them and taught them how to use it.

    [5:08] Rosie's Writing Holiday

    • Rosie traveled to Santa Fe, New Mexico, to work on a new program and finish the proposal for her second book.

    • It's a lovely and historic location ideal for channeling your creative energy.

    • She tells a spooky story about trusting her intuition and sensing energy to change hotels.

    • Listen to the full episode to hear Rosie's anecdote!

    • Remember that being polite is less important than feeling at ease, so trusting your intuition can keep you safe.

    [30:13] Getting a Gut Feeling

    • Chills, a fast heartbeat, or chest tingling while holding your breath can be physical manifestations of intuition.

    • The feeling depends on your senses, such as how some people can visualize while others learn meditation through touch.

    • For Rosie, bad energy is repulsive, while good energy is welcoming.

    • The telltale signs for Tessa are bodily sensations such as a headache and being out of breath.

[35:48] Lack of Faith in Intuition

    • The issue with intuition is that we often gaslight and convince ourselves that it is unreasonable.

    • Just as you would with creative outlets, allow yourself to explore and do what you want.

    • Don't dismiss opportunities because they appear illogical—trusting your intuition is crucial.

    • Despite what happened, Rosie plans to go back to Santa Fe, New Mexico.

[36:26] “I think that’s the biggest problem when it comes to getting to know our intuition is the same as getting to know our creativity, is the same as getting to know our own boundaries. We go into the mind and the mind starts to logicize…But it's like you try to create logic around what you're feeling.” - Click Here to Tweet This
