Episode Highlights
[01:10] What Amber’s Spring Has Been Like
They adopted their 8-year-old son in March a week before Spring.
There’s no preparation for the sleep deprivation that comes with motherhood.
Amber views it as a miracle to be able-bodied this season after a near-death experience with her daughter’s birth.
Her family is just coming out of COVID.
She wants to slow down as much as she can after the last few intense and eventful weeks.
[05:09] Amber’s Near-Death Labor Experience
In 2013, Amber had been living life at a warped speed. She was working her corporate job while working in collegiate athletics.
She had a capacity and high pain tolerance as a strong, athletic person. But her pregnancy came very uncomfortable and challenging in a lot of ways.
During labor, Amber felt disassociated from what was happening in her body. She drove herself to the hospital and felt intense pain unlike any other pain she had ever experienced.
Four hours after reaching the hospital, she experienced a fever, increased heart rate, and shallow breathing.
Amber blacked out as she was undergoing an emergency C-section.
[11:26] Feeling a Deep Feeling of Regret
The first thing she felt in the space between that moment was a deep feeling of regret from not having lived enough.
Amber had a bird's eye view out of her body, where she could see her parents and husband in real time.
She felt an unbelievable sensation of love that no human words could capture its depth. It was the reciprocity of having mutual love with her family.
She got to a point where she decided she fully surrendered her life to God. As soon as she settled with that, she came back into consciousness.
That near-death experience changed every single thing inside Amber.

[15:32] A Near-Death Experience as a Wake-Up Call
She needed that near-death experience to wake up. It made her realize she was missing a lot.
It became very clear to her what she wanted in life and how she wanted to live her life.
She had to make major changes in the way her life functioned.

[16:55] Integrating the Radical Shift into Her Life
Amber says it took some time. She spent a huge portion of her maternity leave to heal her body.
The integration work continued with her hospital readmission.
For years, she worked hard playing soccer to earn a college scholarship. All her life, she didn’t know any other way than working hard.
It was her first time slowing down and not working at something after giving birth. She realized she enjoyed it.
Walking away from everything she had known her whole life was terrifying. But she knew she had already changed so much at that point.
[21:24] Launching a Coaching Business
In April of 2014, Amber left her work to launch her coaching business. She felt like an imposter throughout, but she continued until she found her first client.
She realized she only needed 2-3 hours a month to reach what she was earning working 40-50 hours a week before.
Now, Amber is celebrating her 8th anniversary of being in her coaching business.
They have built a seven-figure company that has impacted the lives of her family and thousands of people worldwide.

[24:18] Master Your Money Mind and Paddle Home
There was a time in her life when she was asking herself what the deepest ache is that haunts her most. She realized it was money and her experience tied down to it.
She started studying and reading about different approaches to money.
The world would be different if we had a different approach to money, especially for women.
Master Your Money Mind is a mindset book about getting to a place of financial peace.
Paddle Home is Amber’s heart and soul in a book.
[27:40] Amber’s Current Definition of Success
Amber defines success as being where her feet are and feeling at home in her body.
Success is this deep appreciation for the divinity of her life; it’s not about keeping score.
Money and other stereotypical components of how we talk about success are just byproducts of that alignment.
Opportunities come when you’re focused on your energy and connection to Spirit and God; you magnetize them.

[29:25] How Amber’s Spiritual Practice Has Changed After Becoming a Mom
Everything is now spiritual and sacred.
We can treat ourselves with the same love and care that we give our children.
The biggest healing process for Amber was acknowledging that her children are enough exactly as they are---and so is she.
The inroad of looking at our kids is just a shortcut. Children and pets don’t have any judgment; it’s just us who do.
Being her own soft place to land is the greatest victory of her life. The most important work of her lifetime is her deep healing.
[29:52] Amber: “We can treat ourselves with the same love and care that we do our children. And that's been the biggest healing process... And if that is true, then so am I.” —Click Here to Tweet This
